2005 Telamon Scholarship was awarded to six IACA
youths on June 18th. The award criteria are based on an essay
titled ‘What Can I Contribute to a Multicultural World?’
as well as their community involvements and volunteerism. We are
very proud of our youths and are pleased to share with you the
voices of two first place winners Alison Yum and Ella Yung through
their essays in this issue of our Newsletter.
Alison Yum, daughter of Wilkin & Clara Yum, is an 11th grader
at The Indiana Academy. Alison’s community involvement and
volunteer works include:
· Muncie Mission for the Poor
· Learn to Swim Program for Kids at Ball State University
· Lawrence Township Public Library
· IACA Lion Dance Team
Ella Yung, daughter of Rudy and Diana Yung, is a graduate from
Park Tudor High School and will be attending Northwestern University
this fall. Ella’s community involvement and volunteer works
include:
· Crossroad Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center
· Learning Project at Park Tudor
· Orchard Summer Camps for Kids
· Central Indiana Community Foundation
