On Saturday, June 4, 2005, the first College Exploration
Forum was held in the Community meeting room at Carmel. IACA and
ICCCI organized the forum to help parents and students prepare
for college entrance. A panel of nine freshman college students
shared their experiences.
The Forum started with an address by David T. Wong, Ph D, our
retired scientist at Eli Lilly & Co. who’s renowned
for his role in the invention of Prozac. A father of three college
graduates, he shared his experience in selection of colleges and
gave guidance to students to follow their preferred interest areas
and career paths.
Our panel of students talked about their freshman experience
at college. It was followed by many questions from high school
students and parents in the audience. They were curious about
campus clubs, major selections, college sizes, class sizes, financial
aid, Greek societies, cafeteria food, sports, music and other
extra curricular activities.
Many thanks to David T. Wong, Ph D and the panel of students
-Ada Wan from Harvard University, Eric Lee from Indiana University,
