2004 Christmas Gala by Agnes Wolverton The beautiful Butler University campus provided a beautiful setting for our 2004 Christmas Gala and Annual Business Meeting on December 12th. Inside the Atherton Hall where we gathered, one can look out the large picture window and enjoyed the season’s lighting framing the campus buildings. One hundred IACA members and guests greeted each other with smiling faces and holiday wishes and visited with old friends and new over delicious fruit punch, fresh fruits and snacks while enjoying the festive ambience provided by the campus and the caterer. Dinner started shortly after 6pm and our talented youngsters provided us with beautiful and live background music while we enjoyed our fine dinner in the company of our friends. The Annual Business commenced while dessert and coffee was served. IACA President Agnes Wolverton presided over the meeting and briefly reviewed the 2004 activities and gave a preview of the upcoming activities of 2005. IACA Treasurer Annie Chen presented a brief financial status of IACA followed by the presentation of thanks and appreciations to the outgoing councilors and the volunteers who contributed so much of their time and effort to the Organization. The 2005 Council slate was presented and after the nomination was closed, the 2005 Council was officially voted in and welcomed by our members. The Christmas sing-a-long led by the new Council wrapped up the business portion of the evening, and our youngsters once again entertained the audience with piano and violin, music and ballet. Their talents were very much appreciated. Ballroom music started after the children’s performance and the dance floor was graced with flowing long dresses and dancing shoes. The evening concluded with one lucky individual per table taking home the table centerpiece.
