Announcements

Chinese New Year celebration
**********************************

Year of Rooster will be celebrated at Carmel High School starting at 5 pm, Saturday, Feb 5. Watch for flyer in your mail.

A 10 course Chinese meal, “Hung Bao (??)” for children, Lion Dance, music and dance entertainment will be featured. Send your reservation to IACA c/o Diana Yung at 5124 Greenbraes E. Dr, Indianapolis, IN 46234 by January 30.

 

Tsunami Collection Update
**********************************

Since the December 30th call for donation, our collection to date totaled $4,530. IACA will present all donation checks to Red Cross by the end of January. Please make check payable to Red Cross International Response Fund with memo of Tsunami Victim Aid. Send donation to IACA, c/o Agnes Wolverton at 11020 E. 116th Street, Fishers, IN 46038.

 

2005 Membership Renewal time again
************************************

Please watch for your renewal form in the mail. Fill out your information and send the form in with a check payable to IACA with memo of 2005 membership renewal, addressed to PO Box 18, Carmel, IN 46082. Remember to send in your Interest Survey Form so that you can be contacted for activities that meet your interest.

Of course, for your convenience, all mails may also be sent to PO Box 18, Carmel, IN 46082. We shall forward your form/payment to appropriate person in charge.

 


Mark Your Calendar 2005

Chinese New Year will be celebrated on
February 5, 2005 at Carmel High School.
For details please see Page 1 and separate
Flyer in the mail.

Chinese musical instrument will be exhibited
and lectured on March 12 , 2005 at
The Orchard School.

New Members welcoming reception will be
held in May, 2005 with children’s musical
entertainment.

Dragon Boat Festival will be held tentatively
on June 11, 2005 at Eagle Creek Reservoir
with Boat rides, races, games and picnic.

Mid-Autumn Festival is tentatively scheduled
for September 17, 2005 (Sept 18 is the day
of festival) with details to be planned and
announced.

International Festival is usually held in early
November. Details will be forthcoming.

Christmas Party/Annual Business meeting
will be announced.

 

Other activities

  • IACA will issue Newsletter quarterly;
  • 2005 Membership directory will be distributed
    in June, (advertisements welcome);
  • Children’s cultural/craft Day: in collaboration
    with FCC, details to be announced;
  • Lecture series for members: College bound
    students forum, medical lecture, financial
    lecture, civics/social lecture;
  • Fun Activities (sports, music, mahjong etc);
  • Outreach programs: public speaking/lectures,
    art/craft to schools, assistance referral.

 

Movie Club meeting

Free to members who is interested in discussing the movie “Hero” after viewing the movie while consuming snacks on Feb 19, Saturday at Jeannie Allen, 12240 Geist Cove Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46236
