6. IACA Christmas Gala with Reception Honoring President Bobby Fong

On Sunday December 2, 2001 a dinner concert was presented by IACA at the Butler University Atherton Union Reilly Room.

The reception started at 5PM, about 200 guests gathered together at the University Club to welcome the only Chinese-American university president in the Mid-West, Butler University President Bobby Fong. The reception was accompanied by the beautiful music provided by the Cantibile String Quartet and delicious traditional Chinese finger food prepared by Yummy Restaurant and Papa Xu.

The dinner comes with a special holiday dinner menu. Karen Lai, Kelly Brinker, Leah Suttner and Meredith Hill played the wonderful music. President Fong gave an opening remark. IACA President Raymond Wong welcome guests and introduced IACA. Dr. Amy Dich, Yvonne Shen and David Wang were the winners of the IACA Distinguish Award. They all received plaques from IACA and a special gift from sponsor Raymond Wong, DDS, MSD. David Russell was the winner of the Distinguish Service Award.

Another function of the party was to introduce local professional performing artists and talents to the community. Jian-Wen Tong (cellist) and Stephanie Jong (violinist) of Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Roberta Wong (principal Dancer) of Dance Kaleidoscope, Keli Xu (pianist), Jerry Yang (ErHuist), Ronnie Gilliam, Liz Jackson and Matt Guebard (Skit), Frances Russell & Friends (X’mas Sing Along) as well as Terence and Margaret Yen (Ballroom Dance) all had wonderful performances. DJ Don Peyton provided great music for ballroom and disco general dancing. The party ended with the last dance at 9:30 PM.

We appreciated the following sponsors: Telamon. International Center, ICPA, Raymond Wong, DDS, MSD, Terence and Margaret Yen, David and Lillian Wang, David and Christina Wong, Tsu-Yi and Lydia Chuang, Joseph and Julia Tang, Cheryl and Robert Sparks, PeiYi Hu.
